PUMPING TO A LADDER PIPE

Coordination

The key to pumping to a Ladder Truck / Pipe is two-fold:

  1. Understanding the fundamentals

  2. Coordination with the Truck Driver - Every Truck is different, and that Truck Driver typically has a PDP he/she wants you to pump to achieve the GPM they want to be flowing. Because of this, you need to work directly with the Truck Driver to gather this information.

Fundamentals

  • The Truck utilizes a Trimease: 3 - 2.5" inlets (with ball gate valves) feeding a 4" female coupling.

  • The Supply Engine will utilize a minimum of 2, 3" supply lines to the Truck's Trimease.

  • Be sure to crack the ball gate valves on the lines you are supplying before charging.

  • Start with a PDP of 180-200 psi if you cannot initially coordinate with the Truck's Driver.
